Day 211

Today we had a little baseball party to toast the guys for a good season.  Little washers game, little margaritas, little pool action, and of course, my husband's famous BBQ!  This guy get up in the middle of the night to prep the fire, place his brisket and pork shoulder exactly where it needs to be to get the best smoky flavor, yet still be good.  And then he checks on it every two hours...it's like having a newborn!  These Yanks don't really know what good BBQ is, so I think they enjoyed themselves (or at least their stomachs did).  However, this is what we're left with--a TON of pulled pork.  The last time he made a bunch for a party, we over estimated and wound up eating pork sandwiches for at least a week.  Unfortunately, I had a cholesterol test within the week of us gorging ourselves on fatty meat...I'm sure you can guess how those numbers looked!! ;)

Day 209 {Thrilled about Thursday}

Well, I do have to say that I'm happy to have my husband back after a summer baseball season.  I know how much he enjoys it, so I try and be understanding.  But, it's hard when we see him only two or three nights out of the week, when we hardly eat dinner together like we normally do, and we find ourselves at baseball games multiple nights a week.  I realize that when the kids get older, this will most likely be our lives, but at least then, he can take over coaching duties with the kids and I can keep the books! ;)  Until next summer...way to end on a good note, babe!

Day 208

It's back...just got my bike back from the shop yesterday!  We went for a ride to celebrate!!  Now if I could only learn to keep my mouth closed while I'm riding, then I'll be set.

They're here...well, coming in waves.  It's so exciting to see something you planted as tiny little guys grow into a massive plant with heavy tomatoes weighing down the vines!!  YAY!
